A quiet spot

Peace and quiet — yet no more than an hour’s fare from the big city — is a hallmark of Tysnes life, offering vast stretches of virginal landscapes, majestic mountains, plentiful wildlife, a paradise for the passionate angler, boating enthusiasts and hikers. Nevertheless, you will find that Tysnes offers a host of conveniences, including shopping, restaurants, sporting facilities and much more.

VisitTysnes is presently undergoing a major makeover, inside and out, structurally, visually and technically. Menus and pages will appear gradually, as they arise. Please bear with us while we're improving the site.

Tysnesfest

The annual Tysnesfest is a summer and music festival during the second week of July, attracting world-class musicians and an average of close to 20,000 paying guests.

Tysnes Oktoberfest

The Tysnes Oktoberfest is a recent invention, featuring live Bavarian music, beer und viel Gemütlichkeit in the Lundegrend hamlet, taking place every September or October.
